Markets Served: Retirees
Retirees often
believe it is too late to engage a planner, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Retirement is a time to enjoy oneself, and there is more
enjoyment with the knowledge and comfort that a current retirement lifestyle is
affordable.
If a Retirement Plan has not been developed, then now is
the time to do so and answer the questions
- What Lifestyle Can I (we) Support?
- How Long Will My (our) Money Last?
It is this type of planning that answers the
important questions of can we afford this or, can we afford that.
Many are faced with a fixed stream of income but are not
aware of opportunities that could increase the after-tax amount from the same income
without additional risks.
A review of current investments might also provide
opportunities for improved after tax returns.
There are also many opportunities in the estate area. On
death heirs, designated charities and the government share in an estate. We recommend a
"tax fire drill" to determine the income and probate taxes that would be payable
under current conditions. Such a review may well produce planning opportunities to reduce
taxes. |
